Our Process
It starts with a trip to our neighboring Goodwills and Texas Thrifts. Hours are spent traveling around town and hand-selecting materials, which are then taken home to be washed and subsequently deconstructed into useable parts.
The night is spent thoughtfully designing, matching materials and shapes together, into exciting designs that we are proud of. These garments are created from a sculptor’s sensibility.
Using our grandmother’s sewing machine, hours are spent hand-ruching or creating frills and ruffles of all materials and sizes. Edges are hemmed and/or cinched, collars are attached, and a JUNE ROMANCE original is born.
Not one garment is like the other, and none will be replicated. Each item is handmade and truly one of a kind.

Supporting slow fashion businesses creates room in our hyper-consumerist world for a more conscientious and intentional approach to buying clothes.
As we know, fast fashion is a dire climate and equity issue. Billion dollar companies are able to push out extremely affordable clothing to consumers by exploiting marginalized people in horrific working conditions often with little to no worker’s rights.
If we want to live in a changed world, we must do the work to change it. Slow fashion encourages meaningful consumption, reducing waste and environmental impact.
Our world is overflowing with clothing items that often just need a simple refresher before re-entering the market. It is JUNE ROMANCE’s mission to fill the world with beautiful, exciting, flamboyant works of wearable art with what we already have at hand. We’ve always had everything we need.
